My Shopify store won’t connect to KicksDB

Please double-check the following:
  • The shop name should be without the http(s):// prefix and without the .myshopify.com suffix.
  • The Client ID and Secret should match what is shown in the Shopify Developer Dashboard.
  • The scopes should be correct — please refer to our guide.

My products don’t get synchronized

This might be caused by:
  • A duplicated handle in your Shopify store.
  • A field that is incorrectly formatted or empty.
  • An uncaught or unknown error — please contact us :)

What refresh rate should I use?

We offer four different refresh rates, ranging from 24 hours to 15 minutes. Pricing varies based on the selected refresh rate.
  • 24 hours → Best for products with low volatility and high available quantity.
  • 4 hours or 1 hour → A middle range for medium volatility, and often the safest choice.
  • 15 minutes → Best for products with very high volatility and large price variations.
By default, we recommend 4 hours with a strict pricing rule to avoid errors.

I don’t see the product on my storefront.

This is a safety measure — we never touch your sales channels or publications. KicksDB only uploads and updates products in your Shopify administration panel. You can then select products and enable the “Online Store” sales channel to make them available to your customers.

I deleted a product or a variant and it’s still on my shop.

  • Deleting a product or an individual variant from KicksDB only stops the synchronization.
  • Deleting a product or an individual variant from Shopify will update KicksDB to stop further synchronization.
This is a safety procedure, but it also allows you to create products or variants through KicksDB using our automated product creation and later manage them manually, detached from KicksDB automations.

What scopes are required?

We require the following permissions on your Shopify store:
  • read_inventory / write_inventory → Allows us to update product quantity.
  • read_products / write_products → Allows us to create and update products and variants.
  • read_locations → Inventories (product quantities) are scoped to a location; without this, we cannot update quantities.
